Honorable Yutaka Gibbons Jr. serves as Delegate representing Sonsorol State in the House of Delegates of the Republic of Palau, Twelfth Olbiil Era Kelulau, where he currently serves as Chairperson of the Committee on Judiciary and Governmental Affairs. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences with certification in Special Education and Adapted Physical Education from San Diego State University through the Ministry of Education’s Teacher Development Program, an Associate of Science in Construction Technology from Palau Community College, and has pursued studies at the University of Guam. His professional background reflects extensive experience in education, youth development, and public service.
He has served as a teacher and sports educator at Palau High School, as well as in various roles in academic instruction, special education, and behavioural health services in both Palau and Honolulu, including positions with the Ministry of Education and the University of Hawaii. He has also contributed to national development through his work with the Palau National Olympic Committee as a Sport Education Program Coordinator and through leadership roles in regional and community organizations, including the Micronesian Games Council and Special Olympics programs. Honorable Gibbons Jr. is widely recognized for his leadership, commitment to public service, and continued efforts to strengthen governance, support youth and sports development, and advance the interests of the people of Sonsorol State and the Republic of Palau.
